Dolcetto of Dogliani was the wine former Italian President Einaudi had a particular attachment to. He was a great connoisseur as well as a producer himself, and he was one of the first to lay the foundations for the true development and success of this wine. The variety had been grown in the area since the 1500s, as mentioned in ordinances issued by the local authorities.
Dolcetto is undoubtedly achieving perfection in terms of fresh young character and fragrance. A genuine, strightforward wine with moderate alcohol that shows how the Dolcetto grape, with favourable conditions on the higher slopes of the Langa, can be a good choice for your meals.
