It was an away Chapter full of illustrious guests, the one that took place on Saturday 11 November at the Tenute Fontanafredda in Serralunga d’Alba, on the eve of the XXIV World Truffle Auction. The rooms of the ancient cellar surrounded by the wonderful wine panorama, a UNESCO heritage site, hosted the Knights of the Order of the Truffle and Wines of Alba for the traditional Chapter of the Autumn Mists, during which the Grand Master Tomaso Zanoletti appointed 12 new Knights, including the writer Luca Bianchini and the deputy mayor of Alba, Carlotta Boffa and gave the Collar of Honorary Knight to the provincial commander of the Guardia di Finanza of Cuneo, Mario Palumbo.
The cultural moment of the Chapter was entrusted to the journalist of La Stampa and Cavaliere Roberto Fiori, engaged in an interview with Carlotta Rinaldi of the Giuseppe Rinaldi winery (Barolo), Federico Almondo of the Giovanni Almondo winery (Montà) and Francesca Accornero of the Giulio Accornero winery and Figli (Vignale Monferrato) on the theme: “The wine of today and that of tomorrow: young producers tell their stories”. An opportunity that proved to be precious to discover how much the new generations of Langa, Roero and Monferrato wine are committed to issues of fundamental importance such as environmental and social responsibility and to giving a sustainable future to the wine hills recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
«In such a lively moment of the year for our territory and in the joyful climate that every year accompanies the World Truffle Auction, the presence of so many guests, including foreign ones, is confirmation of the appreciation that the Knights are obtaining in the whole world – underlines the Grand Master, Tomaso Zanoletti –. Langhe, Roero and Monferrato are experiencing a very positive period and our task is to continue on the path of very high quality and strengthening the value of our extraordinary products, especially exploring their cultural implications”.
In addition to the 12 Postulants, the actors Vittoria Belvedere, Andrea Bosca, Anna Foglietta, Umberto Orsini and the entrepreneur Tomaso Trussardi became Knights.
Among the many guests of the gala dinner, cooked by the starred chef Ugo Alciati of the Guido Ristorante in Fontanafredda, who paid homage to the most favorable season for the white truffle, there were Enzo Iacchetti, Paolo Vizzari, Caterina Balivo and the international actors Kim Raver and Daniel Mc Vicar.
